So I have another fabulous giveaway for you, a sampler basket filled with Crisco Olive, Canola, and Vegetable Oils; an apron; olive oil tasting dishes; and a journal to record your cooking notes.

The March/April issue of Cook's Illustrated featured an article on "Choosing the Right Cooking Oil" in which four of Crisco's vegetable oil varieties were tested. All four were recommended for frying and in mayonnaise, while Crisco Natural Blend Oil was also recommended for baking and making a vinaigrette.

If you haven't checked out Crisco's site lately, you should, they have a new forum called Crisco Cooking Chronicles and they want to hear from us. Share baking and cooking stories, watch how-to videos and tutorials, download recipes, and find so much more.

Here's how you can win this sampler basket:

1. Leave a comment here with your own cooking story, question, or tip.

2. For an extra entry, follow art and lemons on Twitter (leave a separate comment for this).

3. For an extra entry, become a fan of art and lemons on Facebook (leave a separate comment for this).

4. This contest ends Friday, April 23rd 8am EST. The winner will be chosen by and notified by email.

Thanks Crisco for providing this giveaway!

Good Luck Everyone!

  1. Wow! I'm actually really happy to see this... my only association of Crisco is with the huge cans of shortening my mother used to keep in the cupboard when we were kids. When she'd pull it out, we knew it was time for chocolate chip cookies!! As an adult, I'll admit that I've mostly avoided using shortening in my baking, but it's most definitely NOT the same! So I'd really love to get a chance to play and experiment with some of Crisco's oils! Thanks!!

  2. I love to cook and am hoping to find the perfect meatloaf recipe some day. That was my worst cooking disaster. Supposed to be BBQ meatloaf, but apparently the vinegar measurement was off so that's what it tasted like. But I just thought I did something wrong, so I made vinegarloaf TWICE!
